Hey Jay,

I spotted your headline "Social Media Does NOT Require A Lot of 2-Way Conversation " in Twitter and my knee-jerk reaction was to think yes it does, but after reading your post above I have to agree.

We sometimes we tend to think that just because someone didn't post a comment or give us some feedback that it wasn't social.

I too am a big fan of podcasting, but sometimes it seems like were just pushing out content -- right up until the point you meet up with someone at a conference who tells you I loved your latest podcast.

I find that social media is a great to get the word out so to speak and the 2-way communication that does result is at a far higher level because they do have a tendency to know you -- even though you may never have met face to face or talked on the telephone.

And congrats on landing your new customer via the Internet Marketing Club.

Keep blazing the trail!

All GRET suggestions Jay for getting started. However, once people start listening/watching, they will want to converse, ask questions, leave comments. At that point, you do indeed have conversation and will want to reply. Otherwise IMO the brand will suffer - after all isn't the point to reach new customers? If they indeed "show up" then welcome them, thank them, offer them more, and so forth.
